I admire the motifs of the ancient world like Byzantine, Elizabethan, African, Rennaisance and Philippine textile and boat motifs. I love the use of joss papers and faux silver and gold leaf. I also love harlequin patterns, dots, lines and sgraffito texture on thick impasto.
