The Dunhuang Grottoes, a household name, are a rich source of inspiration for the creation of Buddhist paintings, and even though I have never been there, I still admire them. The Flying Skies are one of the classic representations of the Mogao Caves, with each cave claimed to be home to a different era of flying skies. The mottled murals record the time and space of cultural history, and with each stroke, following the still-vivid gestures, it is as if you can travel back in time to see the monks' practice and the devotion of each stroke.
