The flying cat

Concept

Currently I find inspiration in nature, animals and the human figure. My concerns are too many to express. I am very moved by light and expressions with color. All my painting is realistic and figurative, in the work I introduce elements related to nature in which color is mixed with shape in an intentional way that sometimes strays away from pure realism. In my latest series I use oil as a medium on acrylic while in my first season I only used acrylic. Oil painting is a medium that allows me more creative freedom and helps me achieve evolutions in my work. They are layers upon layers that sometimes intermingle and blur. I move towards more vivid colors. I work with all types of formats. From the smallest ones to measurements of approximately 130x 160 cm.

I was born in Bilbao, Spain in 1962, where I now reside. I have a degree in Fine Arts with a long exhibition career. I have works in private collections in many countries around the world and I have been a finalist in several painting competitions with some awards. I do a lot of field work photographing what interests me. I travel through everyday environments chasing images that inspire me. My models are animals and ordinary people that appear in the works as elements when I represent that I combine.
I am inspired by many artists, both classic and contemporary. I like to admire works of art every day of my life, specifically paintings. All my works are original and unique pieces. I am inspired by many artists, both classic and contemporary.
