The Departure of Prometheus. That bearer of lightning, light and knowledge, is accused of betraying, deceiving and stealing the gods, to bring knowledge to the mortal hominids, who thanks to Prometheus have now become creators. According to the Greek narrative, Prometheus deceives the gods and steals fire to give it to humans; for this reason, Zeus, the god of the gods decides to send his eagle to punish by eating Prometheus' liver; In my painting I try to make a small allegory, making some simple changes, among them, showing Light or Fire with the figure of a woman resting on an Ionian column and the eagle, I decided to transform it into a carrion bird, without trying to change the originality of the mythical story; it is simply a symbolic representation from my point of view.
