    Description

This project was inspired by my visit to Auschwitz; yes the death camp. What I've seen was terrible and it really affected me emotionally. I wanted to represent to people what I saw there and how cruel humans can be. On this picture I painted the big pile of shoes which belonged to the murdered prisoners.

  • About this artist

    Concept

I am Szabrina Maharita, born in Transcarpathia, Ukraine, in 1989.
I obtained my degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Painting at Karoly Eszterhazy College in Hungary. I also completed
    a degree in graphic design.

In my perspective, art is a form of self-expression accessible
to everyone, as it is an inherent aspect of human nature. I am most intrigued by humans and everything related to them. For me, this subject offers the broadest palette for self-expression. It fascinates me as a form, as an actor, as a participant. The human being is
the most versatile subject of art that can be depicted. In my work,
the message is the primary focus beyond beauty, so I always strive
to come up with something new or interesting that prompts people to think. I also value experimentation in both theme and mode
of expression. I find myself most at ease working with techniques such as watercolours, oils, inks, and experimenting with their combinations.

Regarding my artistic style, I have a penchant for contrasts,
bold brushwork, vibrant colours, and the deliberate use of blank, untouched backgrounds. When composing my artworks, I strive
to uncover the most captivating aspects of the subject and bring them to life through a harmonious interplay of colours. My artistic proclivity leans towards the expressive tenets of the movement known as expressionism.

I take pride in having several paintings on display across Europe
and America in private collections, and I am continually exploring new avenues to further enrich my artistic journey.
