Artist Statement
Art is intrinsically healing when it has a capacity to make meaning, connections and understandings come together to provide the individuals a new and better view of the world and of themselves. That in turn is healing for our environment also, as individuals heal themselves so does their environment.
My art is very much linked to this notion of healing myself and my environment through my own cultivation of self-awareness that I maintain through not only a spiritual practice but also through the aesthetics and sensibilities of art. In general, my art works as a compass to inform my practice of self-realization and of perceptions of my surrounding environment.
My works develop in a very spontaneous, organic manner, almost like as it would a poem, this way I ensure to stay open to influences from people and my environment, which in turn has great benefits in the work.
I hope to inspire and to translate into form, as much as my ability, the spirit of my journey as an artist and individual.
