This oil artwork is an interpretation of the old “bad” photograph that attempted to capture two persons having a conversation. Indeed, if you look a bit closer at what may seem to be an abstract artwork, you will notice two silhouettes – one with his back to the window and another, emerging from the darkness of the room, on the right side of the first one. It is possible and absolutely fine if your perception of the subject of this painting will be completely different. Many semi-abstract artworks by Zakhar Shevchuk are intentionally made in such way as to puzzle the viewer’s perception and wake imagination, pushing it to keep searching for familiar objects and shapes in something that may seem very remote from reality, at least at first glance.
