Originally inspired by empty streets, parks, and playgrounds caused by COVID quarantine, this semi abstract oil painting has much deeper and more dramatic symbolism these days. Despite its bright, happy and optimistic colours, there is something deeply disturbing in this landscape – it is empty. There are no people here, children do not play on this playground. The impression is similar to the feelings one has after watching news from Ukrainian towns and villages destroyed by russian soldiers during this mindless aggression against my country.
The use of simplified, almost childish lines, in drawing of what is supposed to symbolize a net and a ball, adds a special mood to this painting, a mood you may often find in abstract and semi abstract artworks by Joan Miró or Wassily Kandinsky.
Certificate of Authenticity is included. This painting will be shipped rolled in a tube because of its large size. Rolled artworks can easily be re-stretched.
