Description

The following is a description of an employee altercation I saw while visiting a popular organic salad restaurant in New York City. While placing an order for customization, a woman was crying, probably because she had gotten into a fight with someone. It was probably a male employee who made her cry. The women around her were staring at him as they worked. I could not understand what they were saying because I do not understand English, but I could imagine many things from their expressions. Customers can see what the employees are doing, but New Yorkers do not care how they are looked at. I thought it was a valuable experience not seen in Japan.

Concept

Drawing has always been a part of my life. I started learning to draw in elementary school and studied art in high school and college. My major was oil painting, but now I also create three-dimensional works, picture books, and goods in addition to painting. My motifs are mainly dogs, animals, people, plants, and living things. There is no such thing as a supporting role for living things. I value their individuality. I hope that my works will enrich the lives of those who receive them.
