    Description

This piece is actually part of a very large work. Although it is partially filled with objects that I am very attached to, I felt that there was a problem with the unity of the work as a whole, so I cut it out and created three paintings. A solitary shorebird stands on a beach filled with seashells. It adapts to any environment and survives today. I wanted to depict the strength of such a bird. Painting the shells was really painstaking work, but it was fun. The cut out canvas was fastened to a panel of plywood on a wooden frame with a gun-tacker. To finish it off, I made a frame out of driftwood I picked up at the beach where this bird was found. I also attached a piece of plastic I found. If you don't like the frame, you can remove it and sell it.

    Concept

My power to create artwork is the feeling of curiosity and amazement to the surrounding things just like a child, but with a little more of knowledge and technique. It all started from one small yellow morel growing in my garden out of blue. The interesting shape in my ordinary garden was like Godzilla in the city. It was like a surreal picture of yellow morel saying, “I’m alive!” in a voiceless voice. Eventually, I changed my style to capture the perspective of living things on how modern society should coexist with nature. Originally, I wanted to draw water which leads to my current artworks mainly drawing birds and fish.
