This contemporary-style calligraphy is the artist's eclectic expression of sacred themes for the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. The work was created with a brush using Chinese/India ink, colored inks, and gold on rice paper and then marouflage on another paper.
Elements of classical Mongolian calligraphy in the vertical script and traditional Tibetan script (in color) combine with the symbol of the union of heaven and earth. This symbol, expressed by the arc and the intersecting vertical and horizontal lines, was and still is used by the nomads as a "tamga" or seal.
"Tengri" or "Sky", the greatest and most powerful deity of the people of the eternal blue sky, is one of the oldest worshiped holinesses. At the same time, the text in Tibetan script presents a prayer to the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, an element representing the adoption by the nomads of Tibetan Buddhism.
