The Power of Words is gigantic in its strength. When words come out of our mouths, they have value, and are felt internally. Words can be harmful, almost evil OR beneficial, almost divine.
In this painting, literature and language are present, with distinctive integrated signs such as "Jeu de mots", "Pour un Mot", "Juste un Mot" and "Le pouvoir des Mots", as well as extracts from texts in a variety of languages. Windows are associated with the eyes to claim an open-minded approach to the world and languages. The pink of the hair stands for "uninhibited" and "this is my choice". The red background represents the power of words. The gaze is assertive to go far and keep only the right words.

Concept

Karine Langevin, KJL, is a visual artist. She was born in 1972 in Dijon and currently lives in Gif-sur-Yvette. Painting has always been part of her universe. Graduated in Plastic Arts, she practises different currents and pictorial techniques. In 2005, she became a full-time painter. In 2015, she joined the Taylor Foundation in Paris and, since 2019, several galleries represent the artist internationally. In her pictorial approach, KJL seeks to concentrate emotions in the visual aesthetics of matter and color. Her attraction to painting faces has naturally led her to portraits, but abstracts are also part of her artistic palette.
