Description

Sulfurized silver foil is used to create a rust-like gradation. The luster of the silver foil itself, the dull light of the sulfurized silver foil, and the beautiful colors of the water-dried paint are harmoniously combined. The expression changes depending on the type of light and the angle from which the light shines, such as morning sunlight, slanting evening sunlight, and warm evening light. The foil is coated to prevent discoloration, but the color will gradually change over time. We hope you will enjoy this change as well.

Concept

I love the colors of Japanese paints and foils. I create abstract paintings by combining the colors of iwa-enogu (mineral pigments) and suihi-enogu (dried pigments) with silverleaves that have been sulfidized to change its color from blue to bronze. I use Japanese traditional painting materials and aim to create works with a Japanese atmosphere, which makes viewers feel strangely peaceful when looking at them.
