Description

My favourite still life, was made with my son)
Watercolor, watercolor pencils, 2021

This still life has a story. Flowers in a vase ( eustoma) stood and waited for me to come back and finish painting them. In the background there was a picture that my son had been painting. Then there was a market day and thus the plums appeared on the table. My daughter fell asleep in the afternoon and I decided that an hour should be used for drawing it to completion.

This paper was not known to me, but made of cotton, hence all these effects.
I applied here colored pencils, salt and ordinary watercolor paints.
Then Lev (my son) returned from the kindergarten and said: oh, you drew my picture too! So he finished his own painting that I have on the background of my own one. A painting in a painting - I love it when we can jointly paint together!

Concept

I believe in love and that art can bring us back to ourselves and nature.
And I believe that art should not leave the viewer indifferent, and the task of the artist is to delight the viewer, to show the infinite beauty and triumph of life, the harmony of nature that we are given to contemplate, to draw the viewer's attention to everyday little things that we tend to lose sight of. It is important for me to emphasize the positive, to be grateful that we are still living on this wonderful planet.
I like to study the properties of color on the human psyche, and in my work I strive to express the emotional state through color and use this powerful tool of self-expression.
I work mainly in three techniques: watercolor, batik and acrylic, but they all reflect my goal: admiration and enjoyment of color and the state that it gives us.
