The work was created on an oval canvas that is not flat but has a unique bulge. The carefully selected wooden support was meticulously polished, the trees were carefully painted with colored pencil and watercolor, and oil paint was used for the background to bring out the grain of the wood, adding precision and depth to the expression of the work. This work expresses the overwhelming sensation one gets when looking up at the sky from within a forest. The scene of the trees spreading out like tentacles and covering the sky exists with a distortion, as if you were looking into a drop of water. As materials, water-based paints, colored pencils, and oils were used on laminated spruce, and these elements are blended together beautifully to give this work a fascinating depth and expressiveness.
