To Know Big Sea Ⅱ , 2009, watercolor, oil, alkyd on canvas, 80.8×80.8 cm (31.8×31.8 in)
The name of this work, "Knowing the Ocean," is related to a Chinese proverb that originally said, "A frog in a well does not know the ocean.
The phrase "a frog in a well does not know the great sea" means a person who only knows a small world and is ignorant of knowledge and the world around him.
I named my work "Frog in a Well" in the sense that this frog (fool) will "get out of the well and know the wide world.
I also named the frog after myself.
