I wonder how butterflies spend their time on rainy days. May the butterflies not be troubled by sudden rain. The paper used is thick printmaking paper Hahnemühle. Techniques are watercolor, copperplate, woodcut, collagraph, collage, and acrylic mixed media.

Concept

Kaji Yoco paints a small world that can only be seen by staring at it.
He paints in abandoned gardens, vacant lots, bushes, and other places where people don't interact, because these places are full of life.

The works are painted in acrylic over watercolor with copper etchings, woodcuts, and collagraphs.
Collages of Photoshop-edited images of previous works are used to create a cycle of life in which one work is reborn in the next, like the cycle of life of plants, insects, and other small creatures.
