    The painting was exhibited at the 8th Beijing Biennial in 2019. It is an oil painting on canvas measuring 150 x 150 cm
    As soon as the human existence is being reduced to pure materialism, the image of the world becomes black-and-white. Pursuit of financial fortune, the phenomenon of individualism, retreat into well-protected paradises of wealth; all that deprives us of the actual experience, of the sensation of exploration and discovery, and of true happiness. Contrary to that, the world is in fact full of colorful experience and memories, not merely in material wealth.

    Perhaps the most important element evident in the works of Stano Bubán is his ability to paint without insecurity, without the fear of being limited by the richly tradition-laden medium that only painting can be. He dispatches painting in its various directions, styles and genres that he nevertheless selects from its historical context. He neither exceeds its boundaries, nor disputes the issues, because he has not forgotten the resolution that he has maintained from the time of his very first attempts at painting – above all, to always paint a good picture.
