What I intend is to create a micro-story, a small story, a brushstroke of time, creating a new context for the images, in a kind of landscape of memory built with pure colors and geometric shapes trying to capture the space and depth without the resources of traditional perspective. My work is based on working with colors, glazes, textures and shapes that envelop the image in a timeless space, a space built with pure colors and shapes.
To achieve a quality colour I use a handmade technique for my canvases. I mount the stretcher frame and the raw canvas to which I give myself the primer and I make many of the colours myself. This is the only way to achieve my goals in terms of quality, brightness and transparency of colours, shapes and textures.
My painting technique has to be clean and precise because of the requirements of color and form. Before painting I have to think and calibrate a lot about composition and space, I have to build a puzzle in my head because my own technique prevents me from correcting and making modifications. My painting technique is slow, everything has to fit together and settle for a while, each work is a challenge for me.
The quality of colour and the cleanliness of the shapes is fundamental in my work. The intensity of colour and the use of such saturated colours is undoubtedly the influence of my years as a student of Fine Arts in Valencia, where one breathes luminosity and colour at all times of the year.
Other influences of my style are in the Bauhaus, more specifically in Kandinsky, in Josef Albers who wrote a fundamental book for me which is "The interaction of colour", in the fresco colours of gothic painting, in the painting of the Italian Quattrocento, and of Bosch ..... and surely of many other things that I don't know.
