This is the first oil painting in my life.
The theme of the work is a blend of Japanese and Western styles and world peace, which is my identity. Peace is based on the happiness of each individual. Peace for me is a world without racism.
I based my composition on the Zen art of asymmetrical beauty, a traditional Japanese art form, and an android that evokes a sense of singularity in its motif. This was influenced by the fact that I originally majored in programming. As for the reason for depicting Japanese clothing, it represents the identity crisis of the Japanese people after World War II, when the defeated Japanese were forbidden by GHQ to teach the Kojiki, the Bible for the Japanese people. Many of us Japanese do not know what it means to be Japanese. I do not know the I adopted this work because the place where I presented it was close to Izumo Taisha Shrine and because my roots are also near Izumo. The coexistence of different styles represents that I am a Russian quarter.
