More than silent
There’s a difference between being shy and being quiet. Silence isn’t
always a negative thing, but there are many situations where it speaks
louder than words — especially for a woman.
Children have a remarkable ability to adapt to environments that
are threatening, however very often at great personal cost. As they
transpire into adulthood the damage lingers and one can never put
aside the piercing thorns of childhood. When women are the storytellers
the human story changes, for most, their secret stories are her
own personal ones, embedded within. Illness, grief, loss, struggle - she
strives to forget the scars, she is resilient as she challenges her past not
to define her future. This painting was initiated my solo exhibition dedicated to all the women who’s lives have entangled with mine, the sorrows, joys and passions shared. The technique is simple and bold using indian ink, acrylic & recycled paper.
