Pure encaustic, hot wax, and pigments on OSB
The Northern Railway Connecting Bridge (Budapest, Hungary) lies between the two opposite banks of the Danube. This bridge and its plinth are depicted in the painting. The bridge deck itself is infinitely boring. I was playing with the idea: what if a Banksy painting was over it to cheer up the beach walkers?
The rustic Grassroot architectural solutions are a typical phenomenon of Budapest, as civic creativity shapes the cityscape organically. It is a kind of contemporary folklore, which fits the old facades of the XIX. century downtown houses and the brutalist buildings of the communist era.
The painting was made for the thematic group exhibition "PART" in the 2019 year at the Ujpest Polgár Gallery, in Budapest, Hungary.
The encaustic is equipped with a simple wooden exhibition frame, which harmonizes with the industrial style of the painting and highlights it well. Ready to hang!
This work will be delivered with Care Instructions for my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity. I ship this work in cardboard boxes carefully wrapped in bubble foil and protect the painting with cardboard.
