Pure encaustic, hot wax and pigment on OSB (H55 W30 D1,2 cm) from 2021
My attraction to nature and plants can be explained in the same way as my attraction to the built environment. We superseded nature by our built habitat and then we put it back into our spaces in little pots with soil in it.
In recent years, I have used OSB as a basis. By retracting the paint layers, I use the texture of the veneer as part of my compositions to create a unique rustic industrial atmosphere. Due to the OSB board, these works of art are very stable but heavy. This is recycled art.
The painting is made with self-made paint, which basically consists of pigments and beeswax. Does not contain oil or other paints.
The procedure itself dates back to antiquity and has been known for thousands of years. Only a few artists around the world work with wax on the own.
This work will be delivered with Care Instruction of my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity.
