Pure encaustic, hot wax, and pigments on OSB from 2018.
The painting was inspired by The Drawing Circus. This is a troupe of different artists playing music and models posing in interesting costumes to create an extraordinary atmosphere within the framework of a drawing class.
In recent years, I have used OSB as a basis. By retracting the paint layers, I use the texture of the veneer as part of my compositions to create a unique rustic industrial atmosphere. Due to the OSB board, these works of art are very stable but heavy. This is recycled art.
The painting is made with self-made paint, which basically consists of pigments and beeswax. Does not contain oil or other paints.
The procedure itself dates back to antiquity and has been known for thousands of years. Only a few artists around the world work with wax on their own.
This work will be delivered with Care Instruction of my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity.
