Seven Cards of seven Deadly sins: wrath, envy, greed, gluttony, sloth, lust, and pride. Each card depicts a sin.
The art of Hieronymus Bosch inspired my work. The main themes in his works are depictions of sinful humanity and his conceptions of Heaven and Hell. In addition, his work contains illustrations of religious concepts and narratives, symbols, and religious belief systems of his age.
In my work, drawing and painting were my starting point; I chose to depict metaphors, proverbs, and folk tales expressing wisdom and morality in our age. I was looking for synonyms, analogies that describe each sin, the flow of images created in our imagination. I explored how my field of practice – glass – relates to dreams, identities, and awareness.
Techniques used: glass, Fused glass, decals, and hand painting.
