This artwork is based on my study of encaustic and colour. | Encaustic and latex on watercolour paper |
The universe of colours is very rich and complex. Working to construct the tones and understand how they act and converse within the painting is a process that demands constant attention — the balance between the intuitive force and logical reasoning. When colours are thought to compose an abstract painting, they bring another meaning to the whole, and should be seen as a phenomenon of living experience. When I paint, I awaken what is "dead" through the colours in order to present a simulacrum of life and non-life.
The white latex is used as a support for the encaustic in the medium, as a light that works as a supporting element and base for the appearance of colours, expressly belonging to its determinations, as a force that reveals and manifests tonalities.
