the more trees i was painting the more i got intrigued by the fact that every tree has it own marks, scars, traces made by humans. we give trees a branding - an additional individuality.
i wanted to give each tree a personality and dignity. that's why i painted them like a classical portrait: centered, face to viewer, upright.
i use to take any material that supports my vision. so it can be cardbox, paper, metal, rubbisch, any kind of colour. in this case i used stones, ashes, ink, paper, signal colours.
