Libérée, délivrée

Concept

I'm Lucrezia Solena, originally from Périgord Noir, France. Drawing and painting are a visceral need, as is a thirst for discovery. With a degree in Advertising Design, Decorative Art and a DUT in Archaeology, the inspirations for my art are deeply rooted in my need to create an ideal world, a world where death doesn't exist, where time has no hold. Creating allows me to escape, to find joy and to convey messages through my work. My artistic style is symbolic, always figurative with a touch of naivety. I choose my subjects and themes by letting my imagination wander. An image forms in my mind and I strive to transcribe it onto canvas, mixing folklore, world cultures, animals and flowers. My paintings are my refuge, a place where the world is almost perfect, where we are all united beyond time. My creative process is meticulous. I start by drawing the smallest details in graphite on cardboard or canvas. Then I assemble the female characters, the scenery and the other elements, before coloring with gouache, using a small brush for each detail. I hope people will interpret my work with happiness and joy. I want them to feel the benevolent presence of loved ones watching over us, and to realize that nothing is really lost.
