Description

This piece was inspired by Luc Besson's film "The 5th Element". She represents Leeloo and in addition to that her: energy, her will, her strength, her fighting spirit and also her vulnerability and fragility. A real fighter.
This painting is based on this science fiction movie about the opposition between good and absolute evil. Against the evil spreading terror and chaos every 5,000 years, only one thing can stop it, namely a weapon composed of 5 elements: the 4 elements that are water, fire, earth and air, gathered around a 5th element, a perfect being, the absolute warrior created to defend life: Leeloo

Concept

Karine Langevin, KJL, is a visual artist. She was born in 1972 in Dijon and currently lives in Gif-sur-Yvette. Painting has always been part of her universe. Graduated in Plastic Arts, she practises different currents and pictorial techniques. In 2005, she became a full-time painter. In 2015, she joined the Taylor Foundation in Paris and, since 2019, several galleries represent the artist internationally. In her pictorial approach, KJL seeks to concentrate emotions in the visual aesthetics of matter and color. Her attraction to painting faces has naturally led her to portraits, but abstracts are also part of her artistic palette.
