This painting all about the calm and the storm. It evokes a pause and breath of fresh blue sky air in the midst of the fray. One is allowed to get lost in even the little details, shifts, of color, texture, light and shadow.
Apart of my Undercurrent series. I am thinking of ways to depict subcultural, sub structural conflicts and how one rises above life's challenges.
Marks make of the foundation of the work. I then use natural minerals and pigments layering the ground layer. Some areas of the paint are transparent to the original subtle drawings. Other parts of the painting are built up slightly to see variation in texture. This create a healthy tension in the work.
