This painting is soft but serious. It evokes a quite and restful liberation from the noise of the day. One is allowed to get lost in and rise above the every changing currents of the world's worries, stresses, differences, and conflicts.
Apart of my Undercurrent series. I am thinking of ways to depict subcultural, sub structural conflicts and how one rises above life's challenges.
Marks make of the foundation of the work. I then use natural minerals and pigments layering the ground layer. Some areas of the paint are transparent to the original subtle drawings. Other parts of the painting are built up slightly to see variation in texture. This create a healthy tension in the work.
