Description

Plaster ground on wooden panel, egg-yolk tempera Size: F10 I grew cordyceps found in nature and made this work grow out of my own face. Cordyceps sinensis is a mushroom that grows on insects. Mushrooms are decomposers in nature and are responsible for connecting life to the next life. The work carries the message that humans are also part of nature. Egg yolk tempera is made of egg yolk, vinegar, water, and pigment, and finished with a thin coat of paint. It can be painted with great precision, but it takes a long time to produce.
