Description

A trip to Kavarna (Bulgaria) and Cape Kaliakra gave many impressions and themes for work. Different views and angles: the sea, the rocks, the fortress. There were four of us, and everyone had their own idea of what was worth capturing and what was not. But one view was the point of agreement for everyone.

And this view is really impressive and contains all the components of the Kaliakra aura: the sea, the rock, the high bank, part of the fortress fortification. All these elements really harmoniously combined and expressed the most general impression from visiting this unique place in Bulgaria.

This work looks fresh and bright because that is how it was at the moment when we contemplated these spaces.

Concept

Andrey Bulatov creates unique color vibrations of a specific place (urban and natural environment) with the help of classical watercolor technique, using rich color contrast to emphasize and direct the interaction of man and nature into a peaceful direction.

With the help of his work, he tries to convey admiration for the forces of nature and man who was able to find harmony with the forces of nature. From his travels around Bulgaria and observations of everyday life, plots gradually emerge that form the basis for creating paintings.
