For me, it is always a real challenge to prepare thicker cardboard with gesso for painting. Acrylic paints suit me best, because they dry quickly, so after a minute or two, I can continue painting on painted and dried surfaces.
This painting was inspired by my grandmother who lived in the countryside, and was visited almost every weekend by us, her descendants who live in the cities.
The picture is also a collage in some parts. In one small place, a small piece of newspaper is glued, while in other parts, cut parts from some of my other works, drawings and paintings are glued.
The work is not painted on kent paper but on thick prepared cardboard.
I will sign the picture on the front, these days.
