Concept

Natsuka Kuze studied contemporary art at Tokyo University of the Arts, and after working for an advertising company, she began studying Japanese painting in 2007. In 2019, she suddenly dipped her brush in paint and slid it onto paper, and was struck by the beauty of the unexpected trails of lines that appeared. Since then, she has continued to create abstract paintings in addition to Japanese-style paintings. In her abstract paintings, there are countless colored lines. Her world is a mixture of delicacy reminiscent of Japanese-style painting and dynamic color tones that appear incidentally. Depending on the type of brush she uses and the amount of water in the paint, her paintings show a variety of expressions. No two lines are alike. Colors melt into each other, overlap each other, and accidentally appear in the trajectory of colors. The "color trails" give a completely different impression depending on the viewer's background and state of mind. Aiming to create high-quality art that resonates with the viewer's heart and stirs his imagination, he creates works of art that surprise him in a fresh way.
