This picture was created as a memory of the magical Belgian coast. Last winter, I had to flee from the war in my homeland, in Ukraine. Fate took me all the way to Belgium, where I found refuge with wonderful people. Far away, thousands of kilometers away, the occupiers were destroying everything I loved, killing and burning my country and my home. Here the clouds quietly hung over the cold, beautiful blue sea. Looking at them, I felt calm, detached from reality. Later, during air raids, shelling, or when I'm really scared, I remember those puffy clouds. They bring peace. I created a series of Belgian clouds, this painting is one of them.
