A cargo flight from Anchorage to Frankfurt, a nearly nine-hour flight. The flight through the Arctic Circle is a night flight except in summer, when it is quiet and the stars seem very close. Fuel is also easily iced, so heater operation is important. The heater in the tank safely heats the fuel. The arrival point, Frankfurt, is just barely visible for landing. The alternate site is Amsterdam, which has fuel but less than an hour's airtime at the arrival site. Early mornings in Europe in winter are inevitably foggy. This time, we waited in the air, and when visibility recovered a little, we started our approach. If visibility deteriorated, we would have to return to landing and head for Amsterdam. I couldn't see the approach lights for a while, but the light milk-colored lights were reflected in the clouds. Painted on cardboard board. Size of the work 33 x 48 cm.
