Kaoru Shibuta is a painter, but he is interested in sound, and his paintings are improvisational, based on the way sound appears as color and form. When information from the five senses is integrated and recognized in our mind, feedback may come back to us from other senses, and each sense is not closed off by itself. In such a synesthetic state, Shibuta feels "color" and "form. While he accepts and grasps the influences he receives from the environment (the outside world and others) through his five senses and perceptions, something unconsciously enters his mind, something that cannot be picked up, something that seems to disappear without any form, something that is clearly sensed, something that remains, but not something that can be said to exist. As if inspired by these things, he expresses them through "form," "color," and "material," as if he were communicating with them. By arranging and circulating the expressions in space, it may be possible to create an environment in which a new sense of communion arises. I would like to create an environment where new sensations are communicated and symphonized by composing them in space and circulating them on a time axis.
