The Wind God and Thunder God are widely known as the motifs of the Rimpa school. This work, which has been on view at the exhibition since last year, has finally been completed. The Wind God and Thunder God are deities of nature, and since ancient times, Japanese people have feared and respected the threats of nature, and have coexisted and prospered together. In recent years, the Corona disaster has made us think about the meaning of life. The Wind God and the Thunder God are the images of night and morning, respectively, and the light from the "belly button," the root of life, is a prayer that life has been connected and that it will be connected to the next, as well as a wish that the plague will be dispelled.
