Shin-un-ha-moyo is the name of a pattern drawn by Hamamushi warriors. This pattern is often depicted in my works. I first drew the original pattern in a work titled "Tree of Life," which depicted a pregnant wife. I have been working on this work believing that the extremely tedious coloring technique, which is akin to obsession, can give energy and emotion to the viewer. An organic pattern with the potential for the forest to form land, clouds to form the sky, and waves to form the ocean to continue to expand infinitely. They are symbols of the life force that can freely change form, creating an ukiyoe worldview of extreme colors.
