Inspired by the natural world, I drew these dragonflies. As I was writing the work, I was struck by the beautiful details of the wings. The dragonflies are depicted in relief. Using textural paste, gold leaf and acrylic paint, the body and wings of the dragonflies were covered in gold glitter. Each vein on the wings is covered in gold leaf, which gives a special glow when viewing the painting from different perspectives. Dragonflies bring hope, good luck and new beginnings.
The caption is at the bottom of the photo. The date and title of the painting are on the back of the work.
