Immanuel Kant, the German Enlightenment philosopher, asserted that certain concepts are hardwired into the mind: time, space, causality, and the existence and likelihood of things.
In "epoch fade," Skyler returns to one of his favorite subjects, exploring the relativity of time in the individual conscious mind. The heart follows its own clock and calculus.
The artwork, created using pencil, CG, acrylic paint, and chalk, depicts the fading of significant epochs such as the dinosaur age, global sea navigation, and humanity's confinement to the planet before the dawn of space travel. These fading periods of time are rarely meditated on or affect our daily actions. However, a lost love affair can lengthen the duration of day and night and impact everything we do, as we struggle to let go of personal sorrow.
