I started this artwork with a partial pouring technique with aqua blue, white and gold, then masked the areas with organic droplet shapes. Many layers of stencil and wet-on-wet blurry layers were placed over each other, until I found the deep blue cave-like water texture was achieved. I topped it off with Japanese washi paper, and have varnished it with glossy and matte varnish to keep its texture.
This is inspired by the deep wells of life that truly satisfies the soul, not the superficial things that we try so hard to pretend to be happy with.
By default, I install “D-rings” and a hanging rope before I ship the work so it will be ready to hang. The D-rings will not get in the way of the artwork being framed if you decide to frame it. Please be advised that if the artwork has been on display in a gallery, it will already have D-rings on them.
