This is one of the first pictures from the Lost series, which I conceived as a protest against the cruelty of the world. I'm interested in human nature. What makes us what we are, what is human ecology? Why does a person seek to destroy the world around him? Together with the viewer, I propose to find the answer to the question of how to avoid the death of our world. This work is a layered painting: first there is one layer of paper, after which I process the next sheet and apply acrylic on top. I glue the folds, which gives the work depth. It turns out a paper sculpture that penetrates through the layers and disappears again, like the death and birth of civilizations.
acrylic, charcoal, canvas, transparent paper.
