Description

This series of works is affected by the Oriental art of writing hieroglyphs. The proficiency of writing these characters has always inspired me, and the process acquires certain performativity. When effectuating these works, there is only one chance to create a superior abstraction; therefore, it is essential to feel the size of the canvas, the mechanics of movement, and have an accurate picture of what you want to convey. For me, the painting of these works is associated with the art of dance, where the fluidity of the line and the weight of each step create harmony.

Concept

The artworks are influenced by Eastern culture and the Western experience of abstract expressionism. This symbiosis follows logically from the artist's origin – Ukraine, which has been the point of contact between these two cultures. Therefore, if we talk about this artist's place in the modern paradigm of abstract expressionism, that filling of the historical and artistic gap in Ukrainian modernism, which was formed by the totalitarian regime of the USSR.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
