Abstract roses peeking out of the darkness in Pollock style.
Part of a series in which I find very powerful potential for revealing the theme of loneliness. Both personal and public. Yes, public loneliness exists too, as it turns out . When form disappears there remains shadow, light, colour, traces, hints and deep reflections. But with saturated, contrasting colours I draw the line between public solitude and indifference.
The subject of the painting echoes the gypsy coloured patterns and the matting of the paint layer makes me reach out and check the depth of the image.
You can consider the painting as a striking piece of interior décor.
My acrylic paint has latex in it for elasticity. The full size canvas is 72х106 см
