Fusion XIII, 2019, alkyd, acrylic on linen canvas, 98.6 x 108.4 x 6.2 cm (38.8 x 42.7 x 2.4 in)
The Fusion series is a series of paintings on multiple supports.
The multiple supports and different fabric materials are left visible as they are.
By painting on these supports, I create a relationship between them, and the individual supports become a single screen.
This work is a combination of four supports, and the fabric used is cotton linen. By painting with the material of this fabric visible, and by using the gaps and shadows created by the combination of the supports as the changing surfaces on the screen, a new relationship is depicted that is different from the conventional false depth (illusion).
