In creating this piece, I sought to capture a moment suspended in time, dripping with the raw essence of Americana. The vivid realism intertwined with symbolic elements such as the "WHISKEY By the Drink" and "LO-GAS" signs evoke a narrative of journey and pause. This painting explores themes of transition and temporality, portrayed through the figure of a lone traveler against a backdrop that speaks to both nostalgia and the inexorable march of progress. The ambiance it brings to any space is one of contemplation and a deep, resonating connection to the expansive narrative of life on the road.
Dutch acrylic paints Amsterdam and Italian canvas tm Unico were used. The finish is satin varnish, and the ends are painted in the background color. Part of the "Life in Avatar" series, it is created on and shipped on a pre-stretched canvas on a wooden frame. The painting is packed in a cardboard box with bubble wrap. The artwork is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
