The artwork is inspired by a recent trip the artist took to Brancusi's native town, Targu Jiu, where the sculptor has important monuments exposed: The Infinity Column, and the Heroes Alley. The artist interpreted the experience in her unique style, combining sculptural textures with a refined pallete. The result is a painted sculpture, or a sculpted painting, as the surface is a lovely combination of relief painted textures. The artist reinterpreted the Infinity Column, translating it into her style, and already known stairway made of books, as a column that comes out from the sea ang goes right into the sky, supporting the heavens. The artist chose the wood as a support because she considered it more sculptural; she combines the most unusual media: real gold leaf, sand, and cotton thread. The elegant, very carefully chosen colours suit very well this dyptique, formed of two wooden panels: 2 x 25/80 cm
