Concept

I am an artist from Ukraine, living and working in Basel, Switzerland.

I believe that it is impossible to comprehend the essence of art, rather the opposite: art helps us understand what we like and what we don’t like, how we feel and who we are in general.

In my work I explore how our cultural heritage is being transformed by current trends in human development. My main question is: Is there a place for ethnicity in virtual reality? In my reality there is. Very often I am inspired by my own memories and experiences. In my paintings you can often see themes that have shaped me and my taste since my early years. I adore Ukrainian cultural heritage and am willing to delve into it endlessly.

When I paint a picture, I rarely plan what the result will be. Initially I only have a canvas with paints and an idea. If my original idea wants to transform into something else, I will let that happen.

In my work, as in life, I'm in a search of balance. Finding it inside myself I transfer it to the canvas".
